Practically no relief granted but increased the pressure.

CBDT has allowed to submit Tax Audit report to concerned jurisdiction of assesee before 30th September,2013 and extension of Time Limit for uploading Tax audit reports electronically for those manually submitted audit reports till 31th October 2013.

As there was no print facility in Audit Report utility, now within 4 days you need to prepare the audit reports in manual formats ignoring, at present, the man hours wasted in preparing audit report electronically, print it and submit at respective jurisdiction offices in long line of persons trying to submit it and then upload the return and all these before 30th September 2013.

The due date for obtaining the Audit Report has not been relaxed. Thus the entity under audit has to obtain and file the report within due date prescribed as there is no relaxation in respect of penalty u/s.271B. To repeat the relaxation in only in respect of uploading requirement and not for completing and filing the report. An option is given to file the report manually with the concerned Assessing Officer. This will only add to the work which we all have in hand and therefore, we should continue doing the work of finalising the audit reports and Income-tax returns as we have hitherto being doing.

Dear all,

 

CBDT has obliged the tax payers by allowing them to file audit report manually with tax officer and then submit online report by 31-10-2013?

 

Circular is silent about filing return of income. Hence return need to be filed on or before 30-9-2013.
