Led by their Secretary Naved Masood, top officers of the Corporate Affairs Ministry today briefed the new Minister of State Nirmala Sitharaman at her Udyog Bhawan office in the Capital.
Nirmala Sitharaman, who is holding independent charge of Commerce and Industry, is also Minister of State in charge of corporate affairs and finance.
Masood and his team of officers--who are based at Shastri Bhawan-- went to Udyog Bhawan (which houses commerce and industry ministry) to brief Nirmala Sitharaman about the functioning of Corporate Affairs Ministry.
The briefing lasted for over an hour, sources said.
With a new company law in place, there is a lot of expectations from the corporate affairs ministry on administration of the new legislation.
Already, the rules notified by the Ministry have created a stir among corporates. More rules are expected to be notified in the coming days.
