[aaykarbhavan] Reply of IT Dep on a)Problem in Wealth Tax Return& b)not giving credit for self ass.tax deposited after filing of return(A.Y.2012-13)

Problem of description of Jewellery on Wealth Tax Return
Query:Dear Nitesh Ji,
We are facing problem while filing Wealth Tax Return.
Under the description of Jewellery it is asked to provide  "Value of each precious or semi-precious stone and total value of all such stones". But while feeding the input we are not able to use "," (coma) in order to separately distinguish value of each precious or semi-precious stone. Moreover it is limiting the input as the maximum digits that can be feeded is 14.

Reply: The issue raised in the  mail has been addressed via the updated Wealth tax  PR2 Utility released. In this a separate table has been provided where assessee can provide the details of description, weight and  value  of each precious/semi precious stone in a jewelry item.

CPC Banglore is not giving credit for the self assessment tax deposited
Query: CPC Banglore is not giving credit for the self assessment tax deposited after filing of return for the A.Y.2012-13.And rather on the other hand adjusting the demand for A.Y.2012-13 from the refund due in A.Y. 2013-14.Now neither we can file  Rectification u/s 154 nor revised our return for A.Y.2012-13. What is the remedy available.Even for the appeal decided in favour of assesee  the demand outstanding in the account of assessee not being deleted and the outstanding amount is being adjusted from refunds.

Reply:In the case given, the return has already been filed in September. Thereafter, you have paid Self Assessment tax under minor head 300. CPC has not given credit since there is no information of SA TAx in the return. This is correct.
Now if credit for that tax is required, you need to file a rectification claim and give details of the tax paid in October in the return. Please note that this tax is not SA Tax since it has been paid AFTER filing of return, but is considered a regular payment of tax and interest will be computed accordingly. There is no mistake at CPC.
