Lata In Her Own Voice is a six-part documentary on Lata Mangeshkar produced and directed by Nasreen Munni Kabir for Britain's Channel 4 in 1990. The interviews collected for this project and others made later formed the material for Nasreen Munni Kabir's book by the same name. The episodes are liberally sprinkled with her most important and popular songs. This first episode gives an overview of her work, the impressions of others of her importance, and covers her early career.
