Subject: Export of Goods and Software - Realisation and Repatriation of export proceeds - Liberalisation

Dear All,

 

This is to inform you that vide A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No.14 dated July 22, 2013, the RBI has clarified that the time period for realization and repatriation of export proceeds from April 01, 2013 onwards till September 30,

2013, shall be reckoned as nine months from the date of export. Initially vide  A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No. 52 dated November 20, 2012, RBI has extended the period of realisation & repatriation was extended from 6 months to 12 months. It was further amended, vide A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No. 105 dated May 20, 2013, to bring down the period of realisation to 9 months. The said circulars did not apply to goods or software exported by a unit situated in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) as well as exports made to warehouses established outside India. The circulars has been attached herewith for your perusal.
