Re: Extension of filing of Income-tax returns under section 139 in
cases where tax audit is applicable – clarification – Matter reg.
At the outset, it is appreciated that, keeping in mind, the recent amendment in the tax audit report, the Board has extended the time limit of obtaining and furnishing of tax audit report under section 44AB of the Income Tax Act 1961, for the assessment year 2014-15, from 30th September 2014 to 30th November 2014, as per order under section 119 dated 20th August 2014 under circular F.No. 133/24/2014-TPL.
From the said circular, it is not understood, whether the due date of filing of the income tax return under the provision of section 139 of the Income Tax Act 1961 in cases where tax audit is applicable, has been also extended?
Your goodself will appreciate that, in the cases where provision under section 44AB are applicable, the data as required in the tax audit report in form 3CD & 3CB is to be mentioned in the respective ITR-4, 5 and/or 6, wherever applicable.
As there is a confusion in the minds of all, it is prayed that, a clarification to the effect may kindly be published for the benefit of the public at large, stating whether the return under section 139 of the Income-tax Act 1961 in the cases where tax audit is applicable, has also been extended.
