Dear All--See Mr. Arun Anandagiri's email first and go through my comments for better understanding - otherwise also, the matter is simple and you are intelligent enough to grasp this................Why is that Pune Branch MC is dying to purchase the property against all procedures or requirements and that too when the utility of the new property is said to be least - is itself a red flag for me - must be somebody or some-buddies are interested in the deal which can result pecuniary or non-pecuniary benefits to themWithout going into details (as I have limited information and from one side), I can for sure say that "IDIOTS ARE ALWAYS IDIOTS" is truly applicable to those members of MC who do not respect the AGM resolution and proceed further toward - manmaniI raised my voice for "Utility Audit of ICAI and its organs" few years earlier and now again raise the same issue and look for such audit be ordered by Central Government or ....................(nobody else has power to order - hahahaha) - this is a fit case for utility audit if the transaction ( I may be allowed to say DEAL) materializesregardssuneel appaji---------- Forwarded message ----------

Subject: Reg - Proposed new premises at Pune Branch of ICAI - Grave illegalities
To:To,Respected Managing Committee Members of Pune Branch of ICAI.CC: Infrastructure Committee of ICAI, New Delhi.CC: Whistleblowers & Concerned members of ICAII am told that the Pune Branch has submitted a proposal for purchase of new premises/building, running into several crores of rupees. With respect to the same, i would like to bring to your kind notice that at the AGM of Pune Branch held in 2012, the AGM had unanimously resolved that the Managing Committee would debate the issue and bring back any new building proposal to the EoGM of the Branch for consideration of members.Am surprised that the Branch has so brazenly opted to overlook a unanimous resolution of the AGM, which i may gently remind, is binding on the Managing Committee. Any acquisition of the premises without first conducting an EoGM of the Branch, would be tainted with illegalities.I would request the entire Managing Committee to go through the video recording of the Pune Branch AGM held in 2012 and to comply with the same. You may also note that the minutes of the 2012 AGM were adopted by a 45-34 vote count at last year's AGM and which clearly shows that the a significant % of members at the AGM felt that the minutes were not properly written and did not reflect what was resolved at the 2012 AGM. I was one of them.It is the solemn duty of the Managing Committee to follow the resolution passed by the AGM, in both letter and spirit, especially considering the fact that a resolution for acquisition of premises by the Branch was placed at last year's AGM, by the Pune Branch itself. At last year's AGM, post the discussion of all items on the agenda, dozens of members expressed their views regarding a new branch premise in Pune and the dominant opinion seemed to be against the spend of ICAI funds for another building when the existing building was not even 4 years old!Am hopeful that better sense will prevail and that this proposal will be re-considered by the Branch Managing Committee itself. In the unfortunate circumstance that it is not, the Branch and Infrastructure Committee shall be solely responsible for the several crores funds of members and students money being spent on a real estate project that is both unnecessary and illegal.Sincerely,Arun Anandagiri, FCAMember of Pune Branch of ICAI--Suneel Kumar Appaji FCAKnowledge Architect & Management Adviser99893 10302, 90147 10302
