I am very glad to inform you that I have been asked to take over as Chairman of the Integrated Thinking and Sustainability Task Force of IFAC ( International Federation of Accountants ) from 1st December of 2012 by IFAC . The official communication will come later.
This Task Force will be positioning , clarifying and articulating the role of professional accountants in sustainable business strategies globally. It has 7 nations in its fold and coordinates with GRI and Integrated Reporting Council..
In the 35 years history of IFAC from inception in Oct 1977, this will be perhaps the first time an accountant (CA or CWA) from India gets a leadership role on a vital topic. The credit goes to ICWAI (now ICAI) for its seriousness in IFAC participation
