[aaykarbhavan] MAH. P-TAX LIABILITY

Learned members,

I would like to know what is the legal position for a medical practitioner who though gets registered with medical council, does not start profession immediately but after few years. ?

As per department, one is liable from the date of registration with council whether you are practicing or not.

They are citing decision of All India federation of tax v/s UOI, Bombay high court, dt. 22-2-2001.

I would like to know from learned members, what is the remedy for this situation and are there any other case laws or decisions which would help assessee to pay P-tax from the date of practicing?

an early reply would be highly appreciated

Thank you.
