[aaykarbhavan] Questionnaire received from Income-tax dept. - Advice required

 

 

Dear Learned Members, 

 

Kindly guide regarding the course of action to be followed in the following case. 

 

One of my friends has received a questionnaire from the Income-tax department, New Delhi related to his income for A.Y. 2010-11 & A.Y. 2011-12. The questionnaire
is dated 13/03/2013 & asks the recipient to reply within 10 days. Unfortunately, the questionnaire was sent to my friend's old address & he collected it
only yesterday, 13/04/2013. 

 

During A.Y. 2010-11 & A.Y. 2011-12, his only source of income was salary income & excess TDS was deducted in both years. Unfortunately, since my friend
was going through some family problems during those years, he has not filed his income-tax returns for both those years.
