It is very much clear that in Council, nothing happens without any knowledge of all other council members ever. Every thing is within their knowledge. Take the case f Ratnamani Engineering Limited . It is shameful on the part of our Institution, where no action is taken for a case of Dividend paid out of capital and illegally!!!! No action is taken against Auditor. It is surprising to note that mere book entry of profit allowed by Auditor to Company in Published accounts and the same Auditor as Tax Audit Auditor deducted the same Book entry of profit. Neither Company Ratnamani Engineering Limited Now Ratnamani Metals and Tubes Limited giving any full explanation. Nor Registrar of Companies having Published accounts , O L Report with C A Inspection report with clear line of Tax Audit report , income excluded from income , resulting in to Loss. Just Like a mini Satyam happened in 1992 to 1994!!! No action by any body.
It is appropriately stated by K Raviji, that all CCM members active or non active should be responsible to this big inaction in Nagpur Scandal and also in this Ratnamani Case.

Subject: [CCM 2010-12] Fwd: TOI news report on Land Deal in Nagpur
Dear All
I am forwarding the mail received from a senior member of the profession.Needless to say what transpired without the knowledge of the Council should not have happened. However what is more disturbing is the statement of the President to the press.Rather than clarifying about this deal he seems to have projected that there could be other irregular deals which are being probed by the Committee constituted by the Council. The statement at the best can be considered to divert the attention from real issue.
There is a need to sit down apply our mind and do the best to uphold the dignity of ICAI.
Regards
Amarjit Chopra

Dear Amarjit,
Is the news item 'ICAI chief in the dock for Rs 100 cr land deal' in today's Delhi Edition of Times of India NOT SHOCKING ?
Contents of the news item are very disturbing, particularly deal being done behind the back of Council and its being over valued to such an extent.
If at the ICAI payment of Rs 10 cr can be released without the knowledge of the Council what can we preach.
In response to TOI report, President's explanation that a committee has been appointed to probe all land deals from 2004 onwards suggests there is more to follow on the same pattern.
It requires a matured statement by the Council and not by the President alone.
We are all concerned.
Warm regards
