Dear All,
Just your quick-think (Blink style thinking) desired for the following-
1. Is India a totally corrupt state? We are even ahead of the economically and politically challenged nations in corruption as per Global Corruption Index?
2. Are we a party to this evil?
3. Have we fallen prey to this system that is imposed on us?
4. Before evasion were we corrupt? What was our status then?
5. Who injected the drug of corruption in our veins? What was our mistake in that process? Are we repeating it?
6. Is there any reason to get out of this addiction or we propose to stay with it? As we inherited, we can transmit to our Genext. We all are very busy professionals. It would be unjust to waste time in such petty matters, chalta hai..
7. Why suddenly there is so much uproar in this matter? Has it increased manifold and become a monster? Is it because someone else is putting money in India and teaching us to be as clean as they desire? Are they justified in expecting us to be so clean? Are they clear themselves or they just do it differently - eyewash?
8. Can we get rid of this addiction?
9. How and when? It's painful that US is now our parliament. Please understand this from imposing FCPA on Indian entities . I see it as a shame on us. Are we really offered for sale or already sold? How can our legislature be systematically sidelined and headlined in newspapers. We read it.. shut and forget it.... We can't implement our laws, they are implementing their laws also in our nation.
10. Then why do we spend so much time and energy and most importantly money on our system; the system that is built to keep failing for a more than half decade now? It's like Mig aircraft in our Air-Force, that may have killed more Indians (that too our defense staff) than enemies. We are a nation of mass poverty. The BPL category is in a real mess. Mr. Montek is very hi-tech, for him Rs.50/- odd may be sufficient for a day bcz only parliament canteen can provide such subsidized food to our poor parliamentarians. We invite the bordering nation to transfer their poverty to India at zero cost - illegal migration. If we personally encroach someone elses property, we are bull-dozred. And Govt. Will now authenticate them by issuing AADHAAR.. Direct cash transfer. From where does this cash come? Certainly from our hard earned money. Tax is paid for civilized society. Todays common man never felt so insecure as today.
11. As professionals and institutions and corporate and as Individuals - are we ready for the battle. Let's keep in mind that the organization avoid taking such a call only because their businesses are already under financial strain and can't take more burden. The same may or may not apply to individuals. Also ICAI-Nagpur news is painful. But have we reached a "now or never" state where there is only one solution "do or die"?

I pray - God Bless us.
God says- I am sorry; it's a devil's call now.

The CBI is probing cases of corruption against heads of top PSUs, including matters against former CMDs of Hindustan Copper and Coal India, for alleged misappropriation of funds, bribery and favouritism in award of contracts, Lok Sabha was informed today.

A case is under verification against HCL's former CMD Shakeel Ahmed for alleged "corruption" in allotting tender for developing underground mine at Malajhkhand district Balaghat Copper project, Minister of State in PMO V Narayanasamy told the Lower House in a written reply.

The CBI has also referred a matter to Chief Vigilance Commission and Ministry of Coal against CIL's former Chief Partha S Bhattacharyya for allegedly accepting car as a gift and causing "wrongful loss to BCCL in the matter of transfer of coal block to Bengal Emta Coal Mines," he said.

Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL) is a subsidiary of world's largest coal miner, Coal India.

Likewise in another complaint pertaining to BEML chief VRS Natarajan for "irregularities in awarding tender for transport of Heavy Earth Moving Equipments," the CBI has forwarded the matter to the Ministry of Defence for necessary action, Narayanasamy said.

It is also verifying a complaint against Cement Corporation of India CMD RP Tak for allegedly entering into corrupt practices in award of contract of purchase and sale of cement, besides investigating a case against National Textile Corporation CMD K Ramachandran Pillai.

Narayanasamy said a complaint regarding "misuse of official position in grant of sanction of reward to the wife of Managing Director through ICAI" by Oil India CMD has been forwarded to the Joint Secretary and CVO of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for taking necessary action in September.

Also, he added the agency is probing cases against NALCO's former CMD A K Srivastav for allegedly indulging in corruption in recruitment and other cases besides forwarding a complaint to CVC and Chief General Manager-Incharge RBI for "irregularities in issuing loan" by Corporation Bank's former CMD RN Pradeep.

Narayanasamy further said that apart from CBI, a high-level government panel has recommended action in 218 cases.

"Of the total 285 complaints received, the committee till date has held 17 meetings and considered total of 240 complaints and recommended appropriate action in 218 cases," he said.

The action was recommended by a Group of Officers, headed by Secretary Coordination, Cabinet Secretariat, which took a view on complaints against chief executives and functional directors of PSEs and CMDs and functional directors of public sector banks and financial institutions.
